Root Canals

Root canal treatments address problems of the nerve within the tooth. If the nerve becomes irritated and infected, the nerve tissue inside the tooth is carefully removed by making an opening in the crown of the tooth. The chambers of the tooth roots are permanently filled and sealed. Root canals may be necessary if trauma to the tooth or teeth have occurred. Deep decay and gum disease may also be contributing factors.
