Meet the Stensland Studio Staff

Dr. Steve Stensland graduated from VCUs School of Dentistry in 2006 after completing his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech where he obtained a dual degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry. After graduating from VCU, Dr. Stensland moved to Williamsburg and practiced with a large group dental practice for four years before founding Stensland Dental Studio in April of 2010. He has focused his continuing education efforts on a nationally recognized core curriculum covering such topics as TMJ/bruxism, surgical implantology, cosmetic dentistry, and endodontics. Dr. Stensland has built a practice founded on strong principles of integrity, compassion, and conservative comprehensive dentistry for patients of all ages. Steve has been married for 16 years and has 2 sons. Spending his free time with his family is his number one priority, but he also finds time for fitness, cooking, and watching professional soccer & hockey.

I have worked in the dental field for over 20 years, starting as a Dental Assistant and later becoming a Dental Hygienist. The best part of my job is the relationships I build with my patients – focusing on patient comfort and providing exceptional care. I am a Williamsburg native and have been married to my husband, Wayne, for over 20 years. We have teenage triplets, Payton, Coen, and Mckenna. I feel honored to be a part of such an exceptional team at Stensland Dental!

I'm a native of Hampton Roads, Virginia. I graduated with honors from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001 where I obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. I began my dental hygiene career on the south side of Richmond, and in 2007 I moved to Williamsburg where I have continued serving patients for the past 20 years. I am certified to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. I am a music enthusiast and enjoy trips to the beach as often as possible!

I am a passionate dental hygienist dedicated to patient care and education. I am proudly from the stunning Pacific Northwest though I am eager to explore the world with my husband. I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, immersing myself in audiobooks, and cooking delicious meals.

I began working as a dental assistant in 1999. I moved from Connecticut to Hampton Roads in 2003. As a dental assistant, it’s truly rewarding to be a part of smile transformations – to see patients enter our office self-conscious, trying to hide their teeth – then finish treatment with big, beaming smiles. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling with my husband, drinking pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain!

I have been a dental assistant since 2007. I love what I do because each day brings a new opportunity to help someone love their smile. I have been married for 17 years. We have four wonderful children, three boys and 1 girl. In my down time, I love to be with family, travel, try new foods, learn a new language, and go antiquing.

I have been with Stensland Dental Studio for almost a decade and enjoy the challenge of being the Office Manager. My husband, Kirk, and I have been married for over 30 years. We have two sons, Ryan and Zach, who have flown the nest and are living in Tennessee. We will be gaining a daughter in 2023 when Ryan marries his best friend, Leah. My free time is filled with exercise, appreciating wine, and traveling with my husband.

I previously worked with young children, which really shaped my caring, patient-focused approach. Now, as a Hygiene Coordinator at the front desk, I love building genuine relationships with both patients and coworkers, and helping everything run smoothly. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, Duncan and Bentley, and loved ones. I love cooking, traveling, a little online shopping, and winding down with a good true crime show.
