Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is an acrylic-like material that helps shield the chewing surfaces of back teeth from decay-causing bacteria. Sealant materials form a protective barrier by bonding to tooth surfaces and covering natural depressions and grooves in the teeth. Depending on your chewing pattern, the sealant effect can last many years. Many newer sealants contain and release fluoride to further protect teeth from decay.
